The Rise of Youth Activism on Social Media | Alex Griffin | TEDxThunderRidgeHS

Illuminating issues like climate change is important. All grassroots movements are aimed at bringing national attention to the most pressing issues of our time. The effect of social media is a tool for encouraging public policy. Alex Griffin is a senior at ThunderRidge High School. He is interested in our relationships with the environment, and how we can best communicate the issues we face due to the climate crisis. He thinks it’s extremely important to encourage teenagers to be politically active and motivated in causes they are passionate about. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
