How to Become a Political Activist | Femi Oluwole | TEDxYouthManchester

NOTE FROM TED: This talk represents the speaker’s personal views and understanding of political activism; some viewers may be offended by it. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here:

We are currently living in one of the most tumultuous periods of political change – from the rise of populism to the potential break up of long established international partnerships. Femi Oluwole is passionate about youth engagement and this has seen him challenge establishment figures on TV and radio. Femi tells us about his own journey in political activism and how to inspire others to pursue the causes about which they feel passionate.
Femi is a political activist and founder Our Future Our Choice the anti-Brexit student activism platform. After graduating in Law from Nottingham University he worked for Human Rights organisations before taking up the political mantle. His passionate advocacy for youth engagement has seen him challenge establishment figures on TV and radio and generated invitations to write for the Independent, Guardian and Metro newspapers. Femi will challenge Politicians to promote facts rather than opinions and inspire his peers to join the debate. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at

7 get torn to shreds by, Mike Graham, Julia Hearly-brewer, Katie hopkins…..and a few more.

  3. You wouldn’t need this guy to teach you anything, you just see that “well if he can do it, anyone can”.

  4. I think Novara media funded him for a while. …but once the comedy with brexit finished, he’s probably back with ‘Just eat’ … At least a crash helmet can help his future – nothing else can. Sheer stupidity and no self Respect whatsoever.

  5. Has he ever won an argument?
As long as he carries on being funded he will carry on talking poo!

  6. But what will the EU become? You can’t vote someone in or out, all laws are made in secret just like the USSR was. This means the EU can do what they want, yet Mr Oluwole hasn’t explained this and no one from the EU have. Read the book, The Great Deception by Christopher Booker and Richard North.
